The SPAX7 is the top of the line, hand-selected tube that Mesa-Boogie offers. It is recommended for critical gain stages where only the quietest tube will do.
When Mesa-Boogie is testing their tubes they ocassionally run across a tube that exceptionally quiet and more than average gain. These they set aside and label SPAX7. (Special AX7)
